Yup. That's what mine looks like...with the
exception...(no filter, the phone line to the
phone gets the filter)

I was curious what one would do with Verizon (DSL)
if one tried to sign up under Linux...if then the
PPPoE would come into play?
Actually I haven't configured mail yet but the
mail program should send any login (ala windos)
info correct?
I had Samba running on the machine hooked to the
DSL and was able to ping the other PCs on the
LAN..I was able to brtowse their file systems from
here also...so far so good I guess...
Do you know if Samba can act as a router or should
I be reading the HOWTO on setting up Linux itself
as a router?
Right now I use WinGate with two NICs installed
and a hub. (I'm getting the feeling I'm a glutton
for punishment...LOL) If I remember I have Wingate
using NAT. I can probably go in and copy down all
the mappings its using also...
I just don't know what I need to setup under Linux
to do the same thing as Wingate when I'm running
Knoppix3.7...
Speaking of being a glutton for punishment, I put
a version of slackware on here (either 7.1 or 10.1
via DOS loadlin for now) and I can get to the
commandline which is cool..has tons more stiff the
the mini University distro...but when I run startx
the xserver crashes...and mumbles somewthing about
a device not being found. I go and load the device
and the system says it's already loaded...I try to
startx...it says no device again...
While booting it complains of mangled filenames
also and a directory on the machine having more
than 9256 files in it...then it says it's nota
killer problem and to read the doc....
Um, anybody know "what" doc? Does he mean the
XFree86 man?
I assume it's settings because K runs fine under
Knoppix. Any ideas?
Chris
