It just takes away a bargaining chip so to speak...
M$ dumping all that money into SCO they had to have figured they had SCO
and their supposed rights in their pocket....that carrot (or chip) is
gone for good now....
I notice the screaming banshee is dropping hints at untold numerous
patent violations now that the SCO card is off the table.....
As the Ubuntu guy recently pointed out...if M$ would reveal what these
untold violations were the community could get to work writing new
code...but they refuse...how convenient...the veiled threat...which is
exactly what they used to have via their surrogate in SCO...
(Of course I say this as a complete outsider and end-user...not involved
in the industry...)
