Yeah, it's looking pretty grim. Novell has finally pointed out
definitively that SCO doesn't actually own outright any of the needed
copyrights for enforcing its demands on the Linux community, whether
there's any copied code or not, and it's difficult to imagine a judge
giving SCO a pass on that. In addition, there's now talk of all money
SCO has made in the midst of this being held in escrow rather than being
usable by SCO due to copyright dispute issues. In addition to all that,
there's the simple fact that IBM's legal machine is only in first gear
still, and AutoZone hasn't even begun to throw punches. Microsoft is
withdrawing support rapidly and backpedaling on a lot of its previous
supportive stance, sweeping any such references under the rug now the
way it did with that whole Windows Millenium fiasco.

SCO's twisting in the wind. To find out just how poorly conceived the
entire effort was in the first place, with SCO's UNIX offering actually
potentially in violation of the GPL, is just icing on the cake. The
absurdity of SCO's fight for survival at this point is mind-boggling.
