You will get about as many different answers to that as there are users. ;)
Everyone has their preferences about Emacs and Vi, just like with KDE and
Gnome. Many flame wars have been fought over editors and desktop
environments. This group seems to be pretty laid back about such things, but
put on your nomex suit if you post that question on usenet.
