I think SCO should be taken to court under criminal charges of extortion.
It seems obvious to me that these guys have the $ to push these companies
into "paying them off". They can afford to use high profile lawyers and
technical staff they retain on the sole purpose of taking companies to trial
so that the company will spend larger sums of money defending themselves.
They are responsible to their share holders who I'm sure would want to know
why they are spending large sums of money in court between lawyers and
technical staff when they could spend much less by "paying for the software"
that they use. I don't think the shareholders would really care about the
principal.

When I was looking for hosting providers sometime ago, I called this
company,
EV1 and found them to be very indifferent and sloppy in their business
dealings. This move to license from SCO does not surprise me.
