You're right, that's disgusting. I'm not surprised, having done business with
Network Solutions in the pre-Icann days when they were a monopoly.
I usually use Linux's whois command to get availability. Isn't there some way
you can get whois to specify where it goes for the information? How could I
use it most safely?
My wife is a Windows person. How can she safely do a whois, or should I create
a CGI interface to my Linux box whois command for my wife?
