I'd just like to see open content and open source software take over the
market, causing the demand for proprietary content and software to dry
up, causing both proprietary content/software vendors and "pirates" to
go out of business. As long as legislation doesn't get in the way, I'm
pretty sure it'll happen -- but I'm also pretty sure legislation will
get in the way to some extent. The survival of the RIAA, MPAA, MPA,
and Microsoft kinda depends on fighting the economic feasibility of
open content and open source software tooth and nail. Since that
economic feasibility of open business models can't really be fought
fairly, it has to be fought through legislation and litigation.
