Not just the OS software side of it. The idea behind Trusted
Computing is like the old Red Book/Orange Book business
from the 1980's. "Trusted" means the hardware will not
mis-behave in a way that would violate the security policy
of the OS creator. That policy would include such things
as playing DVDs you are not "authorized" to play. etc
Nothing to do with protecting the user sitting in front of his
home PC.
Trusted Computing in a practical sense means that the
machine will not run un-approved software. This would
include Linux etc.
Then there are the DRM/DMCA issues as well.
