If only it were that easy. Microsoft announced that it was open to
similar deals with Red Hat, which is a curious move indeed. It seems
almost like it might be a reactionary move, meant to counter Oracle's
move into the Linux arena, somehow. Another interesting point of timing
is the fact that this takes place not long after Gates announced his
approaching retirement.

I find it difficult to believe that Microsoft is throwing in the towel
on an OS war that quickly. Maybe I'll believe it when Microsoft finally
ports Exchange (or even MS Office) to Linux and opens the Windows source.
