I *do* live under a rock.
openSUSE.org? I didn't know it existed....
I never really paid too much attention to it until Smitty here mentioned
he ran it...
Even then I assumed it was of th Xandros, Linspire, subscription
variety...or SUSE = $90.00 or something....I didn't want to spend $90.00
to find out it wasn't meant to be...
"The openSUSE project explicitly looks beyond the technical community to
the broader non-technical community of computer users interested in
Linux. The openSUSE project creates — through an open and transparent
development process — a stabilized, polished Linux distribution (SUSE
Linux) that delivers everything a user needs to get started with Linux."
"Only the openSUSE project refines its Linux distribution to the point
where non-technical users can have a successful Linux experience."
Bullseye.
I just recently compared my effort to switch to Linux as taking a "quit
smoking" type of effort because one seems to need that amount of
determination in the beginning to successfully switch, especially when
one runs into problems during and after install on a system with which
you have zero familiarity.
Anyway, thanks. This is exciting.
