Removed postfix, installed Exim4 . Less than five minutes of configuring,
and mail works like it should have all along. :)

I would have to assume that Mepis has customized postfix for the SoHo
release, and the standard howto's are not correct for that version. Either
that, or my iso is a dud. But I don't care, as long as Exim works I am
happy.
