Well, in usr/bin (I think) they have only vi
listed there...and no vim or gvim? Where would I
be able tolcate the file with the alias in it?
It really is a very small distro...100megs I guess...
Looking around it appears to be based off
BasicLinux just to give you an idea...
I think the little tutorial UniverityLinux put
together is very good (so far)..they ease you into
it. Very basic stuff (and no GUI), but perfect for
former DOS users .
At the same time I've been booting Knoppix. It's
the only distro I've tried that I've actually
gotten the NICs configured on...
Correction. Knoppix3.7 is the only one...I tried
3.2 a while back without success...I don't know
what different besides the kernel, but I was able
to browse the other Win machines on my little LAN
here and get out on the Net...now if I can get
Knoppix to actas a gateway so teh Win machines can
do all the usual Net stuff...I'd probably dual
boot everything here for a transition period.
