OK, I have a NEC 2510A DVD writer. I've successfully burned CD-R, CD-RW and
DVD-RW. However, every attempt to burn DVD+R gives a sequence that's
error-free until:
Track 01: Total bytes read/written: 2209644544/2209644544 (1078928 sectors).
./cdrecord/dvdrecord: Input/output error. close track/session: scsi sendcmd:
no error

status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION)
Sense Bytes: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 72 03 00 00
Sense Key: 0x5 Illegal Request, Segment 0
Sense Code: 0x72 Qual 0x03 (session fixation error - incomplete track in
session) Fru 0x0
Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid)
cmd finished after 0.000s timeout 480s
cmd finished after 0.000s timeout 480s
The command used was:
./cdrecord/dvdrecord dev=0,0,0 speed=8 -ignsize /scratch/melanie.iso
(It would refuse to burn a disc >90 minutes without the "ignsize"; odd for a
program to control a DVD writer to do so.)
The drive is IDE, with ide-scsi set up so it appears to be at SCSI 0 on the
first bus. I have kernel 2.4.26 and dvdrecord from a freshly-compiled
"dvdrtools v0.1.4". Has anybody burned DVD+R successfully with a similar
setup? GUI frontends to [c|dv]drtools or mkisofs aren't necessities; I'm
not scared of a CLI.
