My CD writer went catatonic today, with a CD-RW inside. The disc can be
recovered with the aid of a paper clip, but it looks like the drive is
toast. It had been threatening that for a while, but this might be
terminal. Even power-cycling does not wake it up. :-( Looks like I'll be
getting a DVD writer. :-)
