Today there was an attempt by a microsoft marketing person, going by the name
of Michael Surkan, to post to our list for the purpose of doing a marketing
survey. This, of course, would be for the benefit of microsoft and the
detriment of free/open source software. I issued a legal notice to him that
his post would be regarded as malicious spam. If anyone here is privately
contacted by this fellow, please let me know by cc'ing his email to my
address. This fellow should Not be cooperated with in any way.
This is not the first attempt this character has made at surveying LUGs and I
find him to be someone to watch.
