Re: [flalug] Why does nks.net want us to have more spam?

There's always a cost/benifit analysis to be had when it comes to SPAM
and email lists in general. Most lists are presented in a similar
fashion to ours, simply because that's all the functionality that most
list archiving engines have. We usually assume that everyone gets
hundreds to thousands of SPAM a day, and have an appropriate anti-SPAM
solution in place on their MTA or MUA (or where ever.) In this case,
getting your email address published doesn't really effect the SPAM you
see by terribly much (especially since Spider SPAMers tend to be in the
"high scoring SPAM" region.)

Of course, we can always take the archives down... in the future we
have slated to build in search and anti-SPAM features, but since all the
list server archiving that we do publicly is free, this isn't super high
on our priority list.

Thanks.
