Hi all:
I have had nothing but trouble getting and keeping a print
spooler working, so I have started printing without one.
My script files are mostly working as expected, I print text
directly, I convert images to a postscript or encapsulated
postscript file and send it to my HP laser jet IIP via
ghostscript. (I do not have a postscript cartridge)
If gs can display it properly on the X11 display, gs will
print it fine on the IIP.
I can convert any image file to eps and print it, which is quaint
looking, but not what I am looking for when printing a scanned
Kodacolor (tm) picture. (or whatever)
Does anyone know of a LINUX utility that I could use to print an
image file (png, jpg or other) on a HP printer directly without going
to postscript first? I'm hoping there is something better.
